Florida jewelry designer Erin Sargeant creates one of a kind and limited edition jewelry from vintage finds.
I formally studied interior design, but I am a self-taught experimenter when it comes to jewelry. For me, jewelry design evolved from my love of antique and vintage belongings and my passion for nature. Worn and threadbare, objects that wear their history on the outside, shall we say, have always resonated with me. How the richness of a patina whispers testaments to life's quiet mysteries, for example. And there's no greener way to feed a fashion addiction than remixing pieces already in existence.
My jewelry gives new life to discarded objects. Accentuated with sterling silver, 14k gold-fill, and semi-precious stones, vintage notions like buttons, buckles, and brooches are transformed into strikingly modern compositions. Each handcrafted piece is a spirited gathering of materials, a distinct work of adornment that's every bit as individual as the women who wear it.
